Three-hole Flutes (Tabor Pipes)
Three-hole flutes (tabor pipes) are found across Europe. In the Iberian Peninsula, they flourish along the western Silver Route—from Huelva through Extremadura, Salamanca, Zamora, and León into Asturias, the Basque Country, and southern France. Played one-handed while the musician beats a tabor drum or stringed psaltery (chicotén / ttun-ttun) with the other hand.
